Oh what loveliness. I love the sounds of "how busy hum / the autumn harvesters /
in the goldenrod" and the image of the golden furs and cut-glass wings, and then hosta's snow cavern. How amazing it all just poured out of you at the prompt.
Thank you! The prompt definitely tapped a vein. And once I started choosing photos, they started providing more images. I love having the opportunity to go into the archives and share some of them which I've never shared before. I'm afraid I might have neglected some school lessons in favor of writing.
Thank you, Ann. That's one of my favorites as well.
I've been trying to write a description of the bumblebee in the hosta for years and this is the closest I've come so far to putting the magic into words.
Go out where the world waiteth for thee like a garden. Go out unto the roses, the bees, and the flocks of doves! Especially, however, unto the singing-birds, to learn singing from them! - Nietzsche, Thus Spake Zarathustra

Seeing you write poetry and delight in the written word is an invaluable lesson in itself.
Ohhhhh Wowwwww! Melanie, what a feast! I love them all, but this one has a special buzz :-)
.
contented hums from
the furry black grazer,
gold-dusted delver,
shaking her rear
as she nuzzles further
and deeper into hosta's
snow-cavern

So many lovely descriptions in here!
Thank you, Kym!

Oh yes!
That last photo is gorgeous! :)
And I learned a new word thanks to your poem: provender. I love the random things I learn during FPA. 😀
I should have put a phot credit on the final photo. My husband took that one. It's one of my very favorites.
I'm thrilled to have given you a new word. That's one of the best delights of poetry!
Yes! New words are like new magic. :)
